re-bugged
back on writing.
hopefully this one gets the proper mileage it deserves. somehow, the bug continues to crawl, though at snail-pace, hoping to reach the checkered flag in anyway. cracking the safe with a safety pin or a toothpick for that matter. it'll budge. i know it will. just keeping my fingers crossed. that's all. and yes, a well-needed help from a friend. hehe.
backtrack. two years ago. bumming at UPM-OSA, unfinished short stories and a pile of literary junk. living on taxpayer skank. unproductive. floating on dvd high. the cocaine for the film addict. treks to Q. satiation. back to rehab. the detox, a failure. indulged on vast quantities. a recurrence that eventually, was flushed down the toilet bowl. need food for the brain. episodes of stupor. sedentary.
however, one day, a flicker. a light bulb near death. resuscitated by a needleprick of cinematic garbage. the next day, texted
Rommel. an idea was born. initially, it was minor argument about an old Manila street name. eventually, it grew. an itch-in-the-skull that wouldn't go. started the research. made outlines. conceptualizations and all that crap. exchange of emails, but went nowhere. soon, it merely sputtered off. lost. forgotten. completely.
last week, it went on George Romero mode. back from the dead. crept from its grave to haunt. started to put the pen. filled half-a-page, then it stalled. but the idea glued to the paragraphs like epoxy. texted Rommel again. yesterday, we chatted. brainstormed. we arrived somewhere. hopefully. research on reboot. praying we won't procrastinate again...
we'll start writing as soon as i get back home. well, we'll try.

Thanks pre. And don't worry about procrastination . . . happens to the best of us. Sabi nga ni Godard, watching films (i.e.imbibing art) is part of making films (i.e.making art). So being the major book/movie geeks we are, we're halfway there. Good luck pre and remember the operative word in writing is always fun. :-)
