a note off the page of my moleskine
yesterday, i got myself one of the prettiest notebooks that hit the shelves of an office supply store. a
moleskine large ruled notebook. admittedly, it was what i could call, an unnecessary splurge, but the past few days made me realize that i haven't attempted to start writing longhand again (an "unlearned how-to" after computers deliberately took over the entirety of my being). such justification is sufficient to plaster a predicted incessant blabber of my wife on why i purchased a notebook for no reason at all. hehe. my apologies to my better half.
anyway, the notebook will be my back-to-basics approach to writing. without the tempting glance at the thesaurus function of a word processing software nor my penchance for font styles and whatnots. it will be the dark ages sans the medievality of it. i know it will be difficult (the difficulty is given, i know, i relied ostensibly on thesauruses and other grammar reference tools in the past---something that i might refer to as "cheating"), however, it will pose as a challenge to my writing capacity.
meanwhile, i'm blogging. defeats the function of the moleskine, after all. nah. i'll scramble for this post in a few minutes. after which, i guess i'm entitled to a decent cup of a coffee-like decoction (sometimes, coffee makers make sludge out of a good bean bag, but with a little creamer manipulation, will taste like heaven on hell) and some finger stretching.
then i'm off to pen-and-paper planet, and drool at ink blots like Rorschach on prozacs.
