book survey

tagged by jeff. and since i'm scrounging for something to post-pad here goes: (and yes, was also tagged by dodo---will try to do that after this, hehe.)

1. Total number of books I've owned:
have a humble stack of (and the last time i counted): close to 300, excluding those that i recently bought and those that were given.

2. What were the last book(s) I bought?:
perdido street station - china mieville
a gentleman's game - greg rucka
and, uh, yes. harry potter and the half-blood prince - j.k. rowling

3. The last book I completed... (or finished reading?)
the battle of the bulge - danny parker

4.The 5 books that mean alot to me?
beyond the beachhead - joseph balkoski (the first book i bought with my hard-earned baon)
a bridge too far - cornelius ryan (at P475 nine years ago, it was a pain in the purse)
the black dahlia - james ellroy (reread value: 3x. nuff said)
atlas shrugged - ayn rand (debunking the philosophies of the organized-religious)
bible - though, haven't really voluntarily lifted a page, sometimes i think it's one of the best literature of the western civilization that deserves being read (and reread).

5. What I am currently reading?
those that i recently purchased. shuffling them depending on my mood....

6. tagged Bloggers:

1. he who asks the marathon man (dodo)

hehe. i don't know if Rowling had Potter translated in spanish, but if she did, would the title be like this:

Harry Potter y el medio príncipe de la sangre? hehe.

the sixth part is not available yet. but that's the translation more or less. but knowing the spaniards' penchant for weird translation, i doubt it.

The Sound of Music is Sonrisas y Lagrimas (Smiles and Tears)!!!

evans: yeah. weird, indeed. hm, i thought potter's launch was a worldwide release. maybe they still haven't finished translating the text.

joes: hehe. thought so. merely took the literal definition of the title of your blog, and since "ghetto" is a place to isolate...kaya yun. hehe.
