sleep.
well, just because i was too pooped out when i got here. i debated whether i'd get a cab and make a quick sightseeing tour of downtown denver forty minutes away, or kiss the bedsheets and save whatever's energy left for tomorrow. i guess it's quite obvious that i decided on the latter.
this is my second time in denver. and the baptism to the mile high city is just too fucking chilly. literally. when i flew here last april fools, the temperature was twenty F. fortunately, it didn't snow else the windbreaker jacket that i had would've been insufficient. the windchill tore through the thick corduroy material of that freaking thing and punched through the second layer of clothing that i had on.
today fared a little better. it's cold alright, but not as freezing as that april day. i walked ten minutes from where i'm billeted in to a Bennigan's resto a few blocks away for lunch. to think that spring had already started, still the folks here claimed that it snowed a couple of days ago (yet, the shuttle driver who ferried us from the airport to the hotel said that it's best to visit the city during spring---though it prompted me to doubt the credibility of the usual tourist come-on), eventually confessed that denver's climate was just unpredictable.
anyway, i'll be flying back to Orlando tomorrow and be back here next week for the mandatory month-long training i'm supposed to take. hopefully there'll be enough things to do here than my self-imposed hotel incarceration.
(note: the photo above was taken using a low resolution camera phone on the way back from lunch excursion early this afternoon).
